5 Tips to Help You Make Your First Million Dollars
Remember that show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire? The title, a perfectly staged question that no one would ever say no to. Oddly, however, winning a million dollars on that particular television show may be harder than making your first million dollars the old fashioned way. Now you see everyone jumping into the Shark Tank and the effect of TV is driving entrepreneurs companies to reach a million dollars overnight.
So if you’re a business owner / entrepreneur, or want to be one, the first step to earning your first million is an easy one: set your goal. Say, “I want to make a million dollars.” See how easy that was?
Now for the details:
Visibility
There’s no way to get noticed for what you do than to make your presence known. Set up shop, and scream it from the mountain tops: you are here and ready for business. Start a blog, invade social media, advertise in newspapers, hand out fliers, attend events that feature your type of business. Build your brand. You are going to need to brand yourself, why do people want to use your service or buy your product? Who are the doing business with?
Stand Out
Once you announce yourself, it’s time to separate yourself from the crowd. Don’t be cookie-cutter, run-of-the-mill, same-old same-old… you get the picture. Explain how your business is different, and how you can benefit people. Grow wide instead of growing deep. Go after the market with tenacity and 10X explosive drive. Don’t take no for an answer and continue to push to reach your goals.
Create Systems
Do you want use a lifeline? The answer is always yes. That is, from the very beginning, never pass up an opportunity to automate things that would normally take your time. Preserve yourself for activities that are of higher value. Everything else should be systematized.
Exploit Opportunities
Don’t be afraid to be an opportunist. There is no harm in it. Think of the animal kingdom when times get tough. There is no tiger in the world that would pass up an opportunity to have a meal brought to them, instead of hunting it down. Sure, it’s okay to hunt when you have to, but if a waiter showed up each day with a steak dinner for free, saying no would be a detriment.
Keep On, Keepin’ On
Just like with exercise, to achieve the body you want, you have to stay focused and work for it. Always be looking for ways to improve what you have. Build, and build, and build… never let things get stagnant. This comes with one caveat: If something is working, don’t change it completely. Start with small changes that are easy to change back. So if it doesn’t work, reverting back will be as easy as flipping a switch.
Keep moving forward, my friends. Results will happen if you put in the work.
