How to come up with Business Startup Ideas
My various ranting over the course of time must have convinced at least some of you to abandon your nine-to-fives and take the daring initiative of embarking on your own entrepreneurial adventure. But the first annoying task of starting a business is deciding what exactly to do. This process can take months and many budding entrepreneurs crash and burn before they even take off. You could check out a site such as Dreamers or Winners if you are completely short of ideas for a business startup. However, you are more likely to enjoy and nurture a business if you go through the intricate process of giving birth to it. It will be closer to your heart if it is not just something you picked up off the internet. When you start up a business, you’ll have to consider all sorts of things from hiring employees to health and safety obligations (you can find more info here) but for now, it’s all about focusing on what ideas you can create. Lets find some awesome Business Startup Ideas.
Turn a hobby into business
A great way to come up with a business idea that’s personal and unique is to look at a hobby you have, this is obviously something you enjoy doing and are passionate about, and will be like being paid to do what you love.
You might like to collect antique jewelry and can always renew these intricate pieces and open your own antique store or a jewelry design business. A comprehensive music collection can point you in the direction of a record company or recording studio. Avid gardeners can start landscaping, florist or flower preservation businesses. These are just a few examples, and according to your own hobbies you can come up with a variety of energetic ideas for your start-up
Think about what you want to change about the world
A great idea is to think about what you like and dislike about the world around you. What irks you, what makes you angry and frustrates you, what makes you, what makes you want to get up and make a change. These are the things that can turn into lucrative businesses that will give you a reason to get up in the morning.
One of my favorite business tycoons, Richard Branson came up with the idea for his Virgin Atlantic because he was unsatisfied with the service other airlines had to offer, and created the trend of on-flight entertainment which other airlines also adopted. Your start-up can have less ambitious concerns, but the overall idea is the same.
Think about what you’re good at
You might think running the business is what you’ll be doing and such questions only apply to people hunting for jobs, but you will be better at managing a business that stems from something you love doing. For example, a good friend of mine is obsessed with adventure and water sports, and found that in his coastal city there were not many opportunities to do this. So he started his own business which provided diving, snorkeling and other such opportunities, and since he was the pioneer in this field where he came from, his business was a huge success.
You might love to paint, read, watch movies, play video games or do any number of things, and these can all be turned into exciting business ideas with just a little imagination. You can start a firm that offers creative ways to paint home and office interiors, or come up with an idea for your own game and round up a team of geniuses to make it happen. With platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, funding is not even a problem anymore.
Whatever you decide to do, the important thing is to stick with it. All good business startup ideas take time, dedication and careful nurturing to grow into a successful corporation and you will only be fully able to give it all this if you choose wisely, and pick something that you are truly passionate about.
