The Success Mindset
People have dreams — well, most people do. But a fraction of them achieve what they set out to. The difference is the success mindset. Our episode titled ‘The Success Mindset’ is like a big box filled with little nuggets of wisdom. Head to our channel to watch the whole episode.
What Is Your Why?
Figure out your why, and the how becomes clearer. Why do you want to set out on this journey? Do you seek fame? Do you want to help people? We often go through life not knowing why we’re doing what we’re doing. Knowing your why arms you with a sense of purpose.
A Service Mindset
Having a mindset that is intent on helping people is of paramount importance. It is what will get you through the hard days. As an entrepreneur, hard days are inevitable. But if you inculcate an attitude of wanting to help and making a difference in the world, you will not need much to help you sail through the bad times.
Quit Complaining
We’ve heard this one often — be grateful! As human beings, we are already fortunate to be born as the superior species. Stop cribbing about your life and start recognizing your blessings. You have more than you think.
Discipline Yourself
One cannot aim to be successful without working hard at it. To aim for something, having a regimen is key. It helps you stay focused and makes you work on what is important. Discipline brings about a sense of ownership and accountability.
It Isn’t About Being Busy
We often associate ‘busyness’ with success. As a result, we spend time in activities that don’t serve our greater purpose. We do more than we need to. Take a step back and look at what is on your plate. Decide what you want to do — what is worth it and what isn’t. Once you pick what’s important you will have enough time for what matters to you.
Question Authority
Don’t assume that everyone else above you is always right. You have every right to question authority or to seek explanations. We often do as we’re told. Sometimes, challenging the status quo is the best way to set yourself up for success.
Exercise
Yes, you have to get moving. And we don’t just mean physically. Exercise is important for your body and mind as well. By working on the things we can control, we give ourselves a better chance to handle what we cannot. By exercising your body you stay active and fit. Your body is filled with endorphins and you feel ready for challenges. By exercising your brain with puzzles, challenges, and activities you make it an idea-inducing asset. It helps you stay creative.
Loyalty
Achieving success has a lot to do with getting things done. If you have a deadline, work at it. Don’t procrastinate. Own up to your commitments. People will support and respect you if they can count on you. Once you start getting things done on time, you will be known as a responsible person. Follow up with others to show them you are strict on timelines, and ensure you follow through with your actions.
People Are Important
Let’s face it — you cannot do life alone. The same applies to business. We don’t often understand that one of the key things of importance is people and your relationship with them. Make people feel heard and understood. If they are valued they will go to all lengths to see you succeed. And if you have a team that wants you to grow, there is nothing that can stop you.
